Duties And Responsibilities
The successful candidates will be responsible for supporting railway track inspection, maintenance, repair, and related permanent way works.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Packing the railway track as directed by the supervisor.
- Inspecting track components along the line.
- Attending to all track defects as per manuals.
- Cleaning side drains and water outlets.
- Participating in the repair of the track to ensure passability.
- Loading and offloading permanent way materials.
- Performing any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a Form Four Certificate with one of the following qualifications:
- Trade Test II/Level II;
- Level III National Vocational Award II (NVA II);
- Basic Technician Certificate in Rail Track Technology; or
- An equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Remuneration
The successful candidates will be paid according to the TRCS 1 salary scale.
